UP to launch Dial-100 to reduce police emergency response time

LUCKNOW, December 18: State Cabinet today gave its nod for setting up state level police emergency management service Dial-100 to reduce police response time in emergency. A Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today gave green signal to the project with an estimated cost of Rs. 2325.33 crore, an official spokesman said. Under the scheme 4800 police vehicles would be activated, the spokesman said. In the urban areas, the service aims to minimise the response time to 10 minutes for two wheelers and 15 minutes for four wheelers, the spokesman said.
