In a strategic move to bolster development initiatives, the Uttar Pradesh government has initiated the preparation of Master Plan - 2041 following the merger of Lucknow Industrial Development Authority (LIDA) with Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA). The final outline of Master Plan - 2041 was recently unveiled during a meeting of UPSIDA, setting the stage for comprehensive and accelerated development works in the region.
The formulation of the master plan is under the supervision of the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), directed by Mayur Maheshwari, CEO of UPSIDA. The responsibility for overseeing the plan's execution has been entrusted to Shashank Tripathi, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister and ACEO of UPSIDA.
Master Plan - 2041 encompasses the development of residential, commercial, and industrial areas in and around Lucknow. Additionally, it aims to promote industrial and institutional development in Unnao, paving the way for Lucknow to emerge as the industrial hub of the state in the near future. The ripple effect of this development is expected to benefit neighbouring regions such as Kanpur-Unnao.
LIDA, established in 2005, struggled to make a substantial impact in the development journey of the 45 notified villages in Lucknow and 39 villages in Unnao. Consequently, the decision to merge LIDA into UPSIDA in 2021 was made.
The merged authority now oversees an extensive area in Lucknow spanning 299 sq km, from Bijnor, Natkur, Kuruni Jaitikheda along the Lucknow-Kanpur National Highway to Azad Chowraha in Unnao.
Various projects are in progress within this belt, including Sarojini Nagar in Lucknow, where BG Link Infra, Jimmy Garden, Sanganti Enclave, Nirpuria Enterprises, Alaknanda Infra, Amrit Kaur, Shivshankar Bhargava, Nanak Logistics, Captain Manoj Wasan, KJ Enterprises, Jugal Kishore, Sage City, Himveer Cooperative, Krishna Colonizer, Phoenix Infra are actively contributing.
In Bijnor, Aldico Housing, Parth Infra, and GSR Builder are key players, while in Unnao, Vivek Ladhani, Jairam Jalan, and Resham Roosan India are making significant contributions to the ongoing projects.
The Master Plan - 2041 not only signifies a strategic blueprint for development but also aims to create vibrant townships, ITBP campuses, Disaster Management and Forensic Science Institutes, and warehousing projects. As the region gears up for this comprehensive development agenda, the Yogi government's vision is poised to reshape the landscape, fostering economic growth and community well-being.
