In a significant push towards bolstering industrial and economic growth, the Uttar Pradesh government is fast-tracking the completion of projects at the Medical Device Park in Sector-28 of Greater Noida. The ambitious project, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aims to position Uttar Pradesh as a hub for medical device manufacturing and innovation.
The detailed project plan, aligned with the Chief Minister's vision, is being executed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). According to official information, YEIDA is intensifying efforts to complete nine major construction works at the Medical Device Park, showcasing the state's commitment to fostering a robust industrial ecosystem.
Currently, six of these projects are progressing satisfactorily, while the tender and approval processes for two are underway. The ninth project is facing delays due to land unavailability, prompting dedicated efforts to resolve this issue.
The key construction projects witnessing satisfactory progress include Lab Mechatronics, Electronic Assembly Facility, Administrative Office Block, Export-Promotion Incubation, and Excellence Skill Development Incubation Centre.
Notably, the 3D design and rapid prototyping process in the Common Tooling Room and Tooling Lab Mechatronics commenced on 9 March 2023. With a target to achieve 63 per cent of financial and physical goals this year, more than 38 per cent has already been accomplished, signalling rapid progress.
The construction of the Electronic Assembly Facility, which started on 4 March 2023, has achieved 47 per cent of its 64 per cent target, demonstrating commendable advancement. Similar strides have been made in the construction of Common Office Showrooms and the Common Office Complex, overcoming initial delays.
Furthermore, goals related to internet and computer infrastructure have been surpassed by over 24 per cent. The construction of the Export Promotion Incubation and Excellence Skill Development Incubation Center has achieved financial and physical targets by 29 per cent. The approval process for the Bio-testing Facility has been expedited, with ongoing tender approval for the construction and development of Common IT Facilities.
In a strategic move, YEIDA has launched a Commercial Hotel Plots Scheme near the prime location of Jewar Airport in Greater Noida. This initiative aims to promote hotel construction by streamlining the allocation of land for premium, luxury, and budget hotels, further enhancing the region's infrastructure.
As Uttar Pradesh propels forward on its journey of industrial and economic growth, the acceleration of projects at the Medical Device Park underscores the government's commitment to establishing the state as a frontrunner in the medical device manufacturing sector. The developments are poised to attract investments, create employment opportunities, and contribute significantly to the state's economic prosperity.
