Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath laid the foundation stone for the Greater Bareilly Housing Scheme, assessing various ongoing projects and directing officials to focus on the development of industrial clusters, medicity, knowledge parks, and residential townships in Bareilly district.
He also conducted a thorough inspection of the Ramayana Vatika in Ramganga Nagar Yohana on Wednesday. The vatika, developed by the Bareilly Development Authority, saw the Chief Minister unveil a majestic 9-foot statue of Lord Hanuman during his visit.
As part of the Greater Bareilly Residential Scheme covering approximately 600 acres, the Bareilly Development Authority, under the Chief Minister Urban Expansion/New City Promotion Scheme, distributed Rs 1377 crore as compensation to farmers. CM Yogi himself engaged in a friendly game of badminton during the inauguration, inviting Finance Minister Suresh Khanna to join him.
Expressing his appreciation for the work carried out by the authority, CM Yogi emphasised the government's commitment to generating employment opportunities, particularly for small entrepreneurs and those associated with the service sector. Under the Chief Minister Urban Expansion/New Cities Promotion Scheme, plans are underway for world-class educational institutions, health facilities in Medicity, a Knowledge Park, and a Cyber City to attract software companies. The proposal outlines wide zonal roads, with 40 percent of the land reserved for public uses like parks, stadiums, and community centres, and underground utility lines for electricity, telephone, etc.
The Ramayana Vatika, a focal point of the visit, is designed to showcase incidents from Lord Shri Ram's life. A 52-foot-high statue of Lord Ram is planned at Pampa Sarovar, with intricate carvings on stones portraying incidents from his life. A Dashavatar pillar, displaying all the incarnations of Lord Vishnu, is also on the agenda.
