Top Delhi IAS officer Vikram Dev Dutt, takes charge as Principal Secretary, Health

In a bid to push government measures to contain the spread of deadly Covid-19 virus in the national capital while handling criticism over the government’s failure to provide healthcare facilities to the people of Delhi, senior IAS officer Vikram Dev Dutt on Monday assumed the charge of principal secretary, Health and Family Welfare department of the Delhi government.

The Delhi administration while announcing the appointment of Vikram Dev Dutt said that the top IAS officer will bring better administrative skills to contain the health crisis in the national capital.

“Dutt, a 1993-batch IAS (AGMUT cadre), will be posted as principal secretary (Health amd Family Welfare) on his joining Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD), in pursuance of Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India order, dated June 5,” the order issued by the Services Department of the Delhi government said.

Further Vikas Anand, a 2002-batch IAS officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, who was at the helm of the health department will continue to be posted as Officer on Special Duty at the Health and Family department in addition to his own duties, till further orders.

As per the order Anand, secretary-cum-commissioner (industries) will hold additional charges of managing director of the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastrucuture Development Corporation, chief executive officer of the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board and the Delhi Disaster Management Authority.
