Noida’s Connectivity Set For Boost With UP Govt’s 'Comprehensive Regional Transport Plan'

Once completed, the plan will not only benefit Noida, YEIDA (Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority), and Greater Noida but also extend better connectivity to Ghaziabad, Dadri, Bulandshahr, and Hapur

The Uttar Pradesh government is set to develop a 'Comprehensive Regional Transport Plan' to enhance connectivity in Noida and surrounding NCR areas. According to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's vision, the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (Noida) is spearheading the project.

Once completed, the plan will not only benefit Noida, YEIDA (Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority), and Greater Noida but also extend better connectivity to Ghaziabad, Dadri, Bulandshahr, and Hapur.

This comprehensive plan will further improve connectivity between Uttar Pradesh and nearby regions of Delhi, Faridabad, Gurugram, and Haryana. The focus will also be on facilitating freight and logistics movement, enhancing connections to the upcoming Jewar Airport, and preparing for future transportation demands.

Focus on Technical Feasibility and Metro Corridor Expansion
As part of the project, technical feasibility reports for the metro corridor extension from New Delhi Metro Station (AEL) to Knowledge Park-II (Greater Noida) will be prepared by DMRC. Additionally, a detailed project report (DPR) for the metro corridor between Knowledge Park-II and Noida International Airport will also be developed. A study on high-speed rail connectivity and a stop at Noida International Airport Terminal will be conducted.

Study for Personal Rapid Transit System
A study will be conducted on implementing a Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system between the upcoming Film City and Noida International Airport. Plans will also include the development of the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (interchange in YEIDA), NH-91 expansion, and the construction of a link road between Khurja and Jewar.

Long-Term Strategy to Meet Future Needs
A team of consultants will be selected to prepare the plan, aligning it with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs’ guidelines. This strategy aims to provide smart traffic solutions, promote economic development, and explore investment opportunities in the region. The plan will cater to the transport needs of the next 50 years, ensuring the development of public transport systems and regional connectivity.

The project will also boost the development of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), Light Rail Transit (LRT), orbital rail projects, and multi-modal logistics parks (MMLP), providing a significant push to logistics infrastructure in the region.
