THIRUVANATHPURAM, June 13: As part of Swachh Bharat Mission, a two
week-long cleanliness drive began at government offices and autonomous
institutions in Kerala today.
State Minister for Health and Social Justice K K Shailaja inaugurated the drive
by cleaning the premises of the state secretariat here.
The minister also read out a cleanliness pledge to officials.
A number of officials including the general administration secretary K R
Jyothilal took part in the function.
The Union urban development ministry had recently sent a letter to the state
general administration department seeking implementing waste recycling system
in all government institutions in the state to ensure scientific waste
management.
The letter also asked authorities to ensure cleanliness of surroundings and
roof-tops of offices.
