New Delhi: Raghav Garg, the Ghaziabad-based affordable housing specialist, has been appointed Director by the Haryana Housing Board.
A law graduate, he pursued a Masters in Management degree from London Business School, London (LBS). Interested in social issues since he was a teenager, he served at a London-based charity run by Professor Michael Hay of LBS. Armed with such diverse expertise, Garg has presented several papers and addressed professional bodies on “Social Entrepreneurship” and “Affordable Housing” for urban poor.
Raghav Garg has been instrumental in successfully piloting an innovative credit-assessing model with India's largest public bank SBI to finance home loans to low-income customers. Also, he has actively contributed to the Affordable Housing policy of Uttar Pradesh leading to recent Samajwadi Yojna. This will have a huge impact on the future of low-cost housing in India.
The major focus of the Housing Board is to create a policy regime that enables creation of “Housing for All” in Haryana. The Board wants to take forward the vision of Honorable Prime Minister and ensure that every person has home ownership and dignified living.
A dynamic, visionary business leader, he is the man behind MY Parliament, experience that provides promising young people with leadership potential to hone their skills in a democratic setting. It runs simulations of live Parliament sessions for youth; governance conclaves at premier educational institutes and Fellowship programs to mentor potential youth leaders through long term public policy-based engagements.
