Progressing While Preserving History

Smart cities work on mathematical algorithms and structured layers of codes. Technology has helped us to find where we can progress. As a tool, it has also influenced the lives of people to a great extent. Cities are the by-product of history and happenings by the people present in that geographical locality. Cultures, language, communities have played a vital role in shaping the history of the city.

Mathematical equations and algorithms can wear down all these emotional aspects of people around. This may result in the core purpose of performing an action at an individual’s level. This could result in a potential motivational and emotional breakdown at the very basic level of working or striving towards perfection as this leads to no room for innovation or any attachment to the history associated with the drive for perfection.

It is necessary to come to the middle ground on where technological progression can aid natural development. Every development has a significant impact on society as a whole, and it is our responsibility at a higher morality level to take decisions. Technology should act as a tool to aid mankind, not as a barricade that inhibits social, historical, and emotional aspects of a culture’s development. As a society, it is our responsibility to respect our social behavior and preserve our history.
