NASHIK, November 3: The Nashik Municipal Corporation has launched a special smart city awareness drive which involves inviting people's suggestions and organising various programmes.
"The eight-day drive was kicked off yesterday and is aimed at covering six divisions. It aims at seeking people's suggestions and solutions on improving water supply, cleanliness, garbage disposal and overall administration," Municipal Commissioner Praveen Gedam said here today.
Under the drive, the NMC officers, staffers and social activists will visit citizens at their houses and fill up forms mentioning suggestions to improve civic amenities.
NGOs like Crisil and Delivering Change Foundation will guide the civic body in preparation of a plan to be presented to Central government, he said.
The city, which recently hosted Kumbh Mela, was recently chosen by the state government for the Union government's ambitious Smart City project.
