GURGAON, March 18: For smoother traffic movement, it was announced today that an Integrated Mobility Plan is being prepared for Gurgaon with the help of Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transit System Limited (DIMTS).
The Haryana Urban Development Authority has floated tenders for it and the plan will include all roads of the city maintained by various departments.
The meeting was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner T L Satyaprakash who asked for installation of CCTV cameras at important intersections to keep watch on traffic rule violators.
On the issue of traffic woes because of New Jersey Barriers placed ahead of Ambience Mall on the service lane of NH-8, decision was taken to remove the New Jersey Barriers on a trial basis for a period of 15 days.
If it enables smooth flow of traffic, then these would be kept away and if after removal of barriers, commuters try to drive in wrong direction, as was stated by the police officer present in the meeting, the barriers will be put again at the same place where these are at present.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the NHAI Authorities to remove the Gensets and clear the encroachments on the service lane.
The entry and exit points on the express way will also be widened, for which directions were given to the NHAI authorities.
The meeting decided to request the Excise Department to shift the liquor vends located near the highway and would be asked to get them placed at least 100 meters away from the highway.
The meeting decided to have lane marking on the main roads so that the commuters drive in their proper lanes and boards showing speed limit be fixed at various locations along the roads.
