French ambassador to India Alexandre Ziegler met the official of the Chandigarh administration and held discussions on several components of the Smart City Mission. Ziegler met the officials with Nicolas Fornage, Country Director India, French Development Agency and Fanny Herve, Counsellor Sustainable Development, an official release stated.
The officials discussed about the progress of the mission in areas of round-the-clock water supply, upgradation of sewerage treatment plants and mobility, it said. The Chandigarh administration representatives Parimal Rai- Advisor to Administrator, Anurag Aggarwal- Home Secretary, AK Sinha- Finance Secretary and Jitendar Yadav- Municipal Commissioner attended the meeting.
The representatives from both sides presented their viewpoints regarding the Smart City Mission of the Government and decided upon fastracking the developmental process to complete the projects at the earliest.
The FDA has been helping Chandigarh and Puducherry, and Nagpur in Maharashtra develop into smart cities. The dignitaries discussed the progress made in various areas such as mobility, sewerage treatments plants and water supply.
