Odisha’s Cuttack Smart City is planning to construct twelve green smart bus stops at different locations on Mo Bus routes in the city by July. According to information, these stops will be at locations like Badambadi, Link Road, Ganesh Ghat, College Square, Jobra, Cantonment and CDA.
As per the information, the smart bus stops will have a stainless steel structure with polycarbonate roof sheet built over over 50 sq metre area. Each will be constructed with a cost Rs 34 lakh.
These bus stops will also have a vehicle parking lot, which will be managed by a dedicated staff. “Solar power generators will be installed on the rooftop for uninterrupted power supply to the display board and LED video wall screen for advertisement and mobile phone and laptop charging points for passengers. Smart bio-toilets will also be set up adjacent to each smart bus stop at a cost of Rs 33 lakh,” Cuttack Mayor Subhas Singh told the media.
The bus stops will be designed with modern technology, incorporating open space and shade. “The areas adjacent to the bus stops will have fruit and flower bearing trees. More than 100 trees will be planted at each bus stop,” he added.
