Chhattisgarh ULBs to be rewarded with more funds for better performance

RAIPUR, November 18: Chhattisgarh's urban bodies will be rewarded with additional funds from the State government for better performance in executing development works. Urban Administration and Development Minister Amar Agrawal made an announcement in this regard during a state- level programme of representative of civic bodies from across the state here yesterday. "Urban bodies will be awarded with the additional funds for their better performance in carrying out development works in their respective region," Agrawal said. While municipal corporations will be allocated a whopping additional fund of Rs 10 crore, municipalities and nagar panchayat will be provided Rs 5 crore and Rs 2 crore respectively, he added. Representatives of 169 civic bodies participated in the event where development prospects in urban bodies and issues pertaining to their growth were discussed. The state government will consider the suggestions and demands put forth by public representative, he said, adding that further steps will taken accordingly in this direction.
