Patna to unveil 9 Public Service Centers, operational next month

 In a recent development, Sanjay Kumar Aggarwal, Divisional Commissioner, Patna confirmed to make nine Public Service Centers to be made operational by February 2020 and another 19 of them will be functional by April 2020. All the 28 centers will cover all the six circles of Azimabad, Bankipore, Kankarbagh, New Capital, Patliputra and New Patna City, all under the jurisdiction of Patna Municipal Corporation.

The service centers will be providing services related to utility bills and documents such as birth and death certificates, arms licenses and verification of household documents among others.

Scrutinizing Patna's Smart City projects, Aggarwal instructed the private entities to expedite the construction of these centers. Earlier, Patna Municipal Corporation proposed 80 such public service centers but Patna Smart City Limited approved only 28 of them.

The estimated cost of each center is around Rs 45 lakhs and each of these will be strategically located in areas having a high public gathering to ensure maximum coverage. All these centers will be linked with the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) which is supposed to be coming up in the premise of Patna Police Headquarters.
