Now citizens can complain about upkeep of DDA parks online

NEW DELHI, Aug 3: Aiming at making people a partner in maintenance of parks in Delhi, DDA today launched a new web application that will allow them to offer feedback on horticulture-related matters to the urban body. The application that will be accessible through the DDA's official website was launched by Lt Governor Najeeb Jung at the Raj Niwas here. "This will not only facilitate providing a healthy feedback but will also provide a window through which citizens will be participants and partners in the maintenance of parks and various other greens developed by the DDA," Jung said. According to DDA, a search facility through the horticulture division number, locality or park name, area of the parks has been provided in the web application. Any citizen, while offerring his feedback will have to click on the link and select the park by feeding the name of the locality or the park or park area or the number of the concerned horticulture division of the DDA. A facility for uploading photographs has also been provided in the registration form, and after completion of work, the photographs of the area will be uploaded by DDA for perusal of the applicant, it said. As far as the backend processing of the application is concerned, data of 1,079 parks under 11 divisions of the DDA has been fed and the maintenance work has been divided under three heads i.e., electrical, civil and horticulture. The officers of various departments who will be directly accountable for ensuring that the work is done at the earliest, have also been identified - horticulture (Deputy Director), civil works (Executive Engineer) and for electrical (Electrical Engineer). Periodical reports regarding the work completed will be in the public domain, and all photographs or visual evidence of the work done will be archived for future reference, the DDA said.
