In a bid to bolster incident management systems and provide prompt assistance to accident victims on National Highways, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has inked a significant agreement with HLL Life Care. This collaboration aims to fortify existing infrastructure and streamline emergency response mechanisms, as per an official statement released on Friday.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) between NHAI and HLL Life Care Ltd signifies a concerted effort to enhance the efficiency of incident management systems. The statement highlights the incorporation of various elements such as ambulances, route patrol vans, cranes, real-time tracking, and supportive supervision into the existing framework.
"The collaboration is poised to revolutionise the response time for incidents on National Highways, ensuring swift referral of accident victims to nearby health facilities," the statement affirmed. It underscores the establishment of a seamless process for incident management, thereby minimising delays and optimising outcomes.
A key facet of the agreement entails the operation and management of Trauma Centers and Emergency Stabilization Centers. This initiative is strategically aimed at maximising assistance during the crucial "golden hour" following accidents, thereby significantly improving health outcomes.
Furthermore, HLL Life Care’s involvement will encompass comprehensive geo-tagging, mapping, and engagement of health facilities and trauma centres along National Highways. This strategic approach is envisaged to elevate the emergency medical response by effectively linking health facilities with ambulances, thereby reducing response time and enhancing overall efficiency.
As part of the collaboration, HLL Life Care will also collaborate with NHAI to develop a blueprint for investments in trauma centres along National Highways, thus ensuring the provision of critical medical services where they are most needed.
The duration of this agreement is set for five years, during which both NHAI and HLL Life Care Ltd are committed to implementing and refining systems aimed at improving incident management and emergency medical response on National Highways.
This partnership marks a significant step forward in ensuring the safety and well-being of commuters traversing the extensive network of National Highways across India. It reflects a proactive approach by the authorities to mitigate risks and address emergencies effectively, ultimately contributing to safer and more secure roadways for all citizens.
