In next three years Madhya Pradesh will spend Rs.75000 crore on the strategic development of cities, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said.
He was addressing prospective investors on his three-day visit to the United Kingdom starting on Monday.
"We are seeking cooperation from United Kingdom on smart city projects in our state in order to give a boost to development activities in the state," Shivraj Singh Chouhan said.
Chouhan said that the state government intends to develop Madhya Pradesh with the help of British experts and the state can collaborate with the UK's smart city management expertise and modern technology to develop cites in Madhya Pradesh.
""India and Britain should strengthen their ties with mutual cooperation. We need to support each other to increase investments and boost development," said Chouhan adding that Madhya Pradesh has several unique projects, apart from smart city projects.
The government has mainly focused on basic infrastructure, conservation of water, planned metro rail projects and state and national highway for easy accessibility. He assured that the state would welcome the investors and will ensure that there are no hindrances in implementation of policies.
The visit is in response to an invitation by Priti Patel, UK's secretary of state for international development.
Chouhan also met Deputy Mayor of London, Rajesh Agarwal, and representatives of different companies to invite them to Global Investors Summit (GIS) at Indore.
