NEW DELHI, Feb 5: LC Goyal has taken over the reins of the Home Ministry as Secretary replacing Anil Goswami. The ACC has also approved the acceptance of the request of Shri Anil Goswami, Home Secretary for voluntarily retiring from service with immediate effect by waiving the notice period. The term of Shri Goswami as Home Secretary stands curtailed with immediate effect.
An IAS officer of the 1979 batch from the Kerala cadre, Goyal has been serving as Secretary, Rural Development and has also served as both Additional Secretary and Special Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat. He has served in the Finance, Agriculture and Programme Implementation departments in his home cadre, as well as Resident Commissioner for Kerala in Delhi and as Additional Secretary & D-G in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
