Karthikeyan S, an Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer from the 2020 batch, has officially taken charge as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pune Smart City Development Corporation on 24 February. Karthikeyan succeeds Dr. Sanjay Kolte, also of the IAS, marking a transition in leadership aimed at furthering the city's smart initiatives.
Karthikeyan previously served as the Project Officer at the Integrated Tribal Development Project in Kinwat, Nanded. His diverse background includes professional expertise as a chartered accountant, underscoring his multidimensional approach to governance and administration.
Upon assuming office, Karthikeyan expressed his commitment to advancing Pune as a model of urban development and innovation, setting a standard for smart cities nationwide. His agenda emphasises sustainable growth, technological integration, and community engagement as pillars for the city's progress.
The transition ceremony witnessed the presence of key officials including Ulka Kalaskar, Chief Finance Officer of Pune Smart City and Joint Commissioner of Accounts and Finance Officer at Pune Municipal Corporation, along with Pune Smart City’s Chief Knowledge Officer Dinesh Virkar, Company Secretary Swanand Shede, Deputy Engineer Borse, Junior Engineers, and other officers and employees.
