RAIPUR, November 6: To boost electronics sector, the Chhattisgarh government has inked 11 MoUs worth Rs 968 crore for manufacturing electronic components at the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster being developed at Naya Raipur, the upcoming capital city of the state.
Another MoU of Rs 125 crore was signed in food processing sector for establishment of cold chain in the state.
"In the presence of Chief Minister Raman Singh, Secretary Commerce and Industries Subodh Kumar Singh signed MoUs on behalf of the state government yesterday during a function," a public relation official said here today.
The MoUs will bring in cumulative investment of Rs 1,093 crore and employment opportunities for 4,300 people in the state in two of its focused sectors electronics and food processing.
The investment intent in electronics sector will trigger growth of IT and electronics sectors in the state and will approve state's commitment and efforts to developing the sector.
Naya Raipur, the first green field capital smart city of the country, will witness development of electronics sector and open the doors of opportunity for skilled youths and professionals in the state, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, "Chhattisgarh is committed to developing electronics and food processing sectors in the state and has been putting efforts for creating enabling environment for the same."
Electronics sector development will bring massive employment opportunities for skilled youths and qualified professionals in the state, while cold chain development will save wastage of perishable food items and create an opportunity for the local businesses for value addition in the state.
These projects will not only enhance the economic growth of the state but will also create substantial employment opportunities for skilled manpower in Chhattisgarh, Raman Singh asserted.
All electronics sector manufacturers will set up their units in Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) being developed by Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC) in Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) mode on 70 acres of land in Naya Raipur.
