Upcoming Developments in PCMC with 30 years Perspective: Civic Chief

An urban agglomeration of Pune city, Pimpri Chinchwad, which is governed by a separate civic body entity, boasts of superior infrastructure than Pune and much of it has been ensured in the past few years.
However, the new sites which had been commissioned only three or four years ago have been dug up open, the reason being lack of planning by the earlier authority, as explained by Shravan Hardikar, Municipal Commissioner, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.
In a bid to address this situation, Hardikar further asserts that the new upcoming projects are planned with 30 years vision. The projects include grade separators, flyovers, and water connectivity projects among several others.
Among other important projects that PCMC is focussing on includes Amrut water supply scheme for the balance 60 per cent of the city, which is a Rs 250 crore project under implementation in four stages. Another Rs 157 crore project is sewerage improvement involving 250 km of an overhaul of old pipelines.
