Kolkata Traffic Police Implements Partial Closure For Metro Pier Construction At Chingrighata Junction

In a proactive measure aimed at ensuring public safety and facilitating the construction of the Metro Pier for the New Garia-Airport Metro Corridor, the Kolkata Traffic Police has announced a partial closure near Chingrighata Junction effective from 28 February until the completion of the construction work.

The construction of Pier P-319, undertaken by Rail Vikas Nigam, necessitates the temporary restriction of vehicular movement in the vicinity of Chingrighata Junction. 

All types of vehicles will be restricted from playing towards Newtown or Sector-V, Salt Lake, from the crossing of EM Bypass and Chingrighata for a period of 75 days or until the construction work is finished.

During this period, vehicles (except buses) travelling on EM Bypasses towards Newtown or Sector-V, Salt Lake, are advised to take Broad Way or Jal Vayu Vihar for their journey. Buses destined for New Town and Sector-V will utilise Broad Way exclusively from EM Bypass and BroadWay crossing.
