Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar said metro projects in Bhopal and Indore will be taken up on priority basis in coming days.
He assured Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan of all possible cooperation with respect to these projects.
"A new metro policy is at an advanced stage of consideration and soon after its approval by the cabinet, Bhopal and Indore metro projects will be given priority," Tomar was quoted in an official statement.
Chouhan said his government was looking forward to the two metro projects to meet the growing mass transport needs in the cities of Bhopal and Indore.
He also raised the issue of water supply to Gwalior during the three month dry season. It was agreed upon that the problem can only be solved by supplying water from Chambal river, the statement said.
The Union urban development minister suggested that the Madhya Pradesh government send a proposal for loan assistance for supplying water to Gwalior from Chambal River from the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB), it added.
