Genesys International To Transform Dharavi With Cutting-edge Digital Twin Mapping Technology

Dharavi, Asia's largest slum, is set for a comprehensive transformation of its landscape. In a strategic move towards precise and efficient infrastructure development, Genesys International, a homegrown geospatial mapping company, has secured a transformative order to deploy its state-of-the-art Digital Twin Mapping Technology for the redevelopment of Dharavi.

The order, valued at Rs 22 crores (excluding GST), has been awarded by Porter House. Sajid Malik, Chairman and Managing Director of Genesys International, revealed in an exclusive conversation with Business World that the project is slated for completion within a timeframe of 9 months.

He emphasised the significance of mapping the previously unmapped, stating that accurate mapping would bring citizens' properties and establishments into official records, enabling them to exercise their rights.

Addressing challenges in mapping Dharavi, known for its rapid changes in building structures, high population density, narrow congested lanes, and informal settlements, Malik expressed confidence in the company's Oyster 3D mapping technology. Renowned for its precision and high accuracy, Oyster 3D is expected to play a pivotal role in overcoming the complexities of the ambitious project.

Highlighting the project's impact, Malik noted that transparent, accurate ground data would prove useful for civic development projects, including the construction of new infrastructure such as roads and buildings in Dharavi.

Genesys International, having recently secured the digital twin mandate for the holy shrine of Mecca by the Saudi government, continues to make strides in the geospatial mapping arena. The company has also launched the new India Map stack, targeting advanced platforms in consumer, logistics, automotive, and infrastructure sectors, showcasing its commitment to cutting-edge geospatial solutions and expanding its project portfolio.
