Smart City Mission of Government of India has been trending and is much under scanner and progress in the recent times. Please share with us, in what ways is Madras Security Printers working in lines with the Government’s flagship mission?
Our experience in providing end to end solutions as a System Integrator for IT & Non-IT solutions and learning’s from past implementations of various projects across India over the last 30 years enables us to provide the complete range of IT interventions for the Smart Cities mission. The smart city mission envisages a wide range of IT solutions such as Integrated Command and Control Centers, smart lighting, Intelligent Transport Management system, Traffic management etc.
As a Smart city integrator, which all are the key components that Madras Security Printers have on focus for delivery in Smart Cities?
As a system integrator, we integrate various IT initiatives and implement all hardware, software and field level implementation required for each smart city. Each city is unique and hence the solution and implementation should be customized so that the citizens would be able to take advantage of the smart city initiative. The Command and control center is the nerve center of the smart city. All the smart elements get integrated to the command center. MSP Smart City Division is currently implementing smart city initiatives which elements such as City Surveillance, Adaptive Traffic Control System, Transport Management System, Smart Waste Management, Smart Water Management, E-Governance, and Ambulance & Fire & Police
What are the key solutions that Madras Security Printers roll out for Smart City development? Are you already working with any government department for building smart Cities? If any, which one are they?
We are working with on few projects across multiple cities now and several are in the pipeline. Since each city is different, the solutions deployed in each city would be different and customized as per the needs of the city.
What plans for the future is MSP having for tie-ups with other state governments? Share with us some future plans in the pipeline for the development of Smart Cities in India?
MSP is a technology-driven organization and we invest in Research and Development. We are constantly innovating new technologies and showcasing to different states. We are also looking to work with states on PPP model projects and turnkey projects.
What are the major challenges that you face while implementing solutions for smart city in India at the ground level?
A smart city project involves multiple stakeholders across the private sector and the public sector. However, there is greater participation from all stakeholders for the implementation of this prestigious project
Arunachal Pradesh has recently adopted your solution for the e-Public distribution system. Please share more details about the program and the solution?
Arunachal Pradesh is a wonderful example of how technology can be leveraged to the advantage of the citizens even is challenging terrain. The vision of the government to use ICT initiatives to automate the public distribution system is commendable.
Your solution for GPS based software is adopted by Greater Chennai Corporation. Would you share with us more about how is it helpful in Chennai perspective and which all cities can take a cue to build a model out of it?
GPS technology is one of the most established and reliable technologies available today. India is also launching satellites and has also published standards. MSP provides GPS based solutions with real time tracking and data analytics integrated with GIS so that decision makers will be able to make instant and informed decisions.
