Three Hry districts to be connected with optical fibre network

NEW DELHI, December 18: Three districts of Haryana - Rewari, Faridabad and Sonipat - would be connected with National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN) by February next year. Minister of Communications and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad said this in a meeting with Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today, according to an official statement. Prasad also said that Haryana should promote electronic manufacturing and assured of Centre's assistance for the state to start providing online learning driving licenses. Khattar said that under 'Digital India', the work towards Digital Haryana has already been started in the state and within a year various e-governance applications have also been started so as to provide maximum facilities to the people. The Chief Minister said that Haryana is the first state of the country where Aadhaar Card registration of newborn babies is done.
