The Delhi Metro will sell 'Tourist Smart Cards' through dedicated kiosks at 36 stations from September 4-13, anticipating a surge in travellers owing to the G20 Summit.
The cards come in two varieties: one-day validity and three-day validity, with "unlimited rides" in the metro network.
As per reports, these 'Tourist Smart Cards' are accessible on ordinary days as well, but in anticipation of the G20 Summit, specific counters have been opened that will begin selling these cards for a period of 10 days beginning Monday.
The one-day validity Tourist Smart Card would cost Rs 200, while the three-day validity card will cost Rs 500. According to the DMRC, this cost includes a Rs 50 refundable security deposit.
Kashmere Gate, Chandni Chowk, Chawri Bazar, New Delhi, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan, Lok Kalyan Marg, and Supreme Court (formerly Pragati Maidan) are among the 36 metro stations where these cards will be offered.
Delegates from 19 countries and the European Union are slated to visit Delhi for the high-profile summit, which will be held in the newly completed international convention centre at Pragati Maidan. On 9 September, the two-day summit will begin.
